R&D Issues

  1. Research and Development Goal
    To demonstrate the practical application of our new concept for the wide-area sensor network (Demand Addressable Sensor Network) which actively acquires data at the demand of users, we will develop the following two technologies and then build a system prototype by integrating them.
    1. Demand addressable network construction technology: A set of technologies that, on user request, searches for and finds sensors and services which hold the desired data, mashes up the acquired data – even when it is in different formats – within the network and provides results to the user.
    2. Wireless Sensor Network Having Environment Adaptability: A set of technologies to develop a wireless sensor network where the role of each sensor node in the network can be dynamically changed at the demand of a user and from which target data can be actively acquired.
  2. Methods to Attain Our Goal
    To achieve the goal described above, we will implement the following within three years.
    Topic I: Demand Addressable Network
    Topic II: Wireless Sensor Network Having Environment Adaptability
    Topic III: Prototype System
